  • Terms, Conditions and Acceptable Use Policy
IOComputer.net provides Internet World Wide Web page hosting, e-mail and domain services. IOComputer.net has certain legal and ethical responsibilities regarding the use of its computer network and equipment involved in these services.
  • Specific Acceptable Use Policies
Unauthorized use of other people's accounts or computers
IOComputer.net will strongly react to any use or attempted use of an Internet account or computer without the owner's authorization. Such attempts include "social engineering" (tricking other people into releasing their passwords), password cracking, security hole scanning etc.
  • Any unauthorized use of accounts or computers by an IOComputer.net customer, whether or not the attacked account or computer belongs to IOComputer.net, will result in action against the attacker. Possible actions include warnings, account suspensions or cancellations, and civil or criminal legal actions, according to the seriousness of the attack.

    Commercial advertisements with e-mail
Unsolicited commercial advertisements are not allowed in e-mail, and will likely result in account suspension or cancellation.

Commercial advertisements are unwelcome in most Usenet discussion groups and on most e-mail mailing lists. Inappropriate posting may result in account suspension or cancellation. See the newsgroup or mailing list's charter for whether advertising is allowed or not. "Spamming," or sending a message to many different off-topic newsgroups, is particularly unethical and will be treated as such.

Sending a message, especially an advertisement, to more than five or six recipients, is by itself spamming unless the individuals have specifically requested to be added to a mailing list on that topic. E-mail is a person-to-person medium, not a broadcast medium.

    Exceeding of Alloted Traffic
IOComputer.net customers are privileged to be offered high amounts of traffic for their web sites. The intention of IOComputer.net is to provide space to serve web documents, not an offsite storage area for electronic files. All web pages (html) must be 'linked' with all files (.gif, .jpeg, .exe, etc.) stored on IOComputer.net's server. Web sites that are found to contain no html documents or a number of unlinked files are subject to warning, suspension or cancellation at the discretion of IOComputer.net's management.

IOComputer.net will not host music archive sites that violate any copyright laws in any file format. Any sites that are found to contain this content will be warned, suspended or cancelled at the discretion of IOComputer.net's management.

  • Backup Policy
Our backup policy allow us to maintain our servers at near 100% reliability.  We maintain full monthly backups (run at 4am on 1st of the month) and can restore a file from a previous month's backup upon request. Restore requests must be made to Techsupport before 6pm of the last day of the month in order to be restored from the previous month's backup.  Our tape rotation schemes do not allow us to restore a specific file back to a specific date, so archival and historical backups are solely your responsibility.

Reminders for those customers who pay by check will be sent via e-mail 3-4 weeks before payment is due.
